Chances are you have been too, or at least heard of, Whisk Creamery. Their flagship store has been serving delicious gelato to the residents of Subiaco since 2014, and for the past couple of years bringing sweet treats to the streets of Northbridge from their new venue. Here at Perth Desserts we had a chance to visit the Subiaco store and indulge in some of their creations, and we weren’t disappointed!
Six staple flavours can be found at both stores with a different monthly flavour being released at each. This month at Subiaco: Peanut Butter. We tried a deliciously nutty scoop on one of their famous waffles topped with whipped cream, a flamed giant marshmallow, choc peanut pieces and a little beaker of chocolatey goodness. The last is poured generously over the top to make for an oozy, delectable plate of dessert. 
Next, we were treated to some of the speciality hot chocolates due to hit both stores next week. A thick, rich Italian hot chocolate topped with whipped cream and another one of those perfectly roasted, gooey marshmallows. The Salted Caramel flavour comes with a sweet and salty caramel fudge, chocolate wafers and a sprinkling of caramel coated cereals that add the perfect crunch. The Strawberries & Cream comes with white chocolate coated cereals, strawberries and coconut white chocolate truffles, the perfect treat to warm you up on a cold winters day. They will be running a special for this beauties on Thursdays, no better excuse to get down and try one!
 While digging in we had a chance to have a chat to two of the minds behind these blissful creations, brothers Davide and Simon. It is a real family affair at Whisk that goes back generations. Originating from a little town in Italy where the family had their own patisserie and gelato shop they came for a holiday to Australia and, lucky for us, decided to stay – bringing their passion for quality desserts with them. 
From their mouth-watering new ice-cream flavours and cronuts to Taiyaki cones and soon to be released vegan avocado ice-cream there is a little something for everyone at Whisk. The boys bring their own modern twist and creativity to everything and it’s wonderful to see the love and care that goes into each plate. Can’t wait to see what they bring us next!
